Meliponarios Loriga

We are two meliponiculture farmers in the province of Mayabeque in Cuba, supported by our families.

Meliponiculture refers to the breeding and management of stingless bees called Meliponas Beecheii – known in Cuba as “abejas de tierra”.

We practise intensive, modern and transhumant meliponiculture, but in a way that is friendly to the environment and, above all, to the bees.

We are particularly committed to sharing our knowledge and helping other producers.

We harvest monofloral and polyfloral honeys and bee bread mainly from wild plants, using harvesting techniques that allow us to obtain a safe product of excellent quality.
